What to do with your Christmas Tree

by Jeremy on December 28, 2009

If you read our post about where to get a fresh-cut Christmas tree a few weeks ago, then you probably need a place to dispose of it soon.

Colorado Springs and El Paso County have partnered with the El Pomar Youth Sports Foundation  to offer multiple locations for recycling your tree.  You can find a full list of treecycle locations at the city’s website.  You will need to bring a $5 donation to El Pomar, but that still beats trying to stuff the thing in your trash bin, and the money will go to a good cause.

Of course, if you’re really cheap like me, you can save $5 and get a couple dollars worth of firewood if you’re willing to cut it up yourself.  I expect to get at least a few good logs from our 13 foot tree when we take it down in a few weeks!
