This week marks the beginning of the school year for Falcon District 49, one of the earliest start dates of Colorado Springs school districts.
Today is the first day of classes for 10th and 11th grade at Vista Ridge High School (9th grade began yesterday). Vista Ridge High School opened to 9th grade in 2007, then to 10th grade in 2008, and this year welcomes 11th grade for the first time. The final level of high school is slated to be open in 2010.
Vista Ridge High School is located just off the dead-end of Dublin and Black Forest/Shimmering Creek. At some point in the relatively near future, Black Forest Road will be connected with Woodmen and Dublin will connect with Marksheffel making the school and the neighborhoods surrounding much more accessible.
If you’re intersted in seeing how Vista Ridge High School did on the CSAP compared to other District 49 schools, or to other local school districts like Academy District 20 or Colorado Springs District 11, you can request a PDF with the consolidated reports for all the high schools in any district in Colorado Springs.
