Next Saturday is the beginning of the 50th annual Colorado Garden and Home show in Denver. This year’s special entry garden display is the “Secret Garden of Pirate’s Cove”, a 25 ft. tall by 32 ft. long pirate ship with pirates and cannons that come to life. Makes me think of a Rose Parade float!
The show features 12 profesionally landscaped garden displays spread out over more than an acre, 1400 gardening and home improvement-related booths, 50 free educational seminars and workshops. It’s Colorado’s largest home improvement event, and over 70,000 people are expected to attend.
The event runs through February 15th at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. General admission is $12 at the door, with a $2 discount if you bring a non-perishable food item to donate. You can also purchase tickets in advance at Tickets West outlets in King Soopers stores for $10.
On a related note, a study from Michigan State University showed that great landscaping can increase your home’s value by 5 to 11%.
