Looking west toward the number one accident-prone intersection in the Springs
This week the city of Colorado Springs released its list of the top 25 most accident-prone intersections based on traffic volume and the number and severity of accidents.
The good news is that it seems to be getting safer to drive in Colorado Springs: continuing a trend started in 2006, scores are getting lower, and this year’s most dangerous intersection’s score was almost half that of last year’s top score. Interestingly, although the score was much lower, the number one intersection in 2007 and 2008 was Briargate Parkway and North Powers Blvd.
Here’s a map of all 25 intersections:
Well, the good news is that if you do most of you’re driving west of Interstate 25, you’re probably safer! East-siders, well, please be careful along Powers Blvd!
