When it snows like it did last week, traffic conditions can get pretty dicey. The city’s pretty quick to get the roads cleared, but it’s difficult to keep them clear while it’s still snowing! A great resource is the City of Colorado Springs’ traffic cameras.
They’re not live, but are updated every five minutes so it’s still a great way to plan your route home if the weather’s bad.
A great way to get real-time traffic updates is through Twitter. Since so many people have iPhones, Blackberries, or can text from their cellphone, they’re able to text while they’re sitting in traffic. There was quite the flurry of activity on Twitter during last week’s storm.
I’d suggest following @EPnewsfirst and @kktv11news for the latest local updates on road conditions and anything big going on in Colorado Springs. You should follow me and Jeremy, too, for lots of local news and real estate updates.
