Cumbre Vista is a new-home development on the northeast corner of Woodmen and Powers in northeast Colorado Springs. It’s quietly tucked behind the ridge at Woodmen and Powers and sits just to the south of Worlf Ranch. To the north you can watch the cows and the antelope grazing, as one of the builders claims – but in a few years that open space to the north will be full of continued Cordera and Wolf Ranch development.

- There is a proposed District 20 elementary school site is located in this neighborhood. I contacted the district for more information and found that there is no current timeline for building the school. A new bond issue would have to be passed to allocate funds for this school and at present the board of education has not decided when this would be presented to voters.
Here’s a couple of homes currently listed in this neighborhood: 7986 Mount Hayden Drive was built in 2006 with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a 3 car garage. Looks like there’s lots of upgrades like two fireplaces and hardwood floors -it’s listed for $285,900. For $289,075, you could pick up a completed brand new home at 5818 Cumbre Vista Way with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths and a finished basement.
This is definitely the lowest-priced new home community in District 20 and features reputable local builders. It’s a great location, too – just on the edge of town right now, but very conveniently located to employers and businesses in the Powers corridor, as well as close to the anticipated explosion of business development along Woodmen Road east of Powers.
