Eastbound Woodmen Road from Mohawk to US Highway 24 is opening to two lanes this Friday. Those of you who commute from Falcon to the Springs will have a little bit of an easier drive now – at least once you get to Mohawk Road. Woodmen Road is basically the ONLY road that directly connects northern Colorado Springs to Falcon, and it can be a traffic nightmare during rush hour. The expressway project is slated to be completed in spring 2009.
By the way, for those of you non-Colorado Springs residents, the map may look like they’re building an expressway in the middle of nowhere, but the master-planned community of Banning Lewis Ranch is slated to take up basically that whole area south of Woodmen that is currently empty.
