In 2013, we purchased a true fixer-upper in Black Forest. By “true”, I mean that this was not just a paint-and-new-carpet job – it has thus far required the use of nine 20-30 yard dumpsters and we are only about 1/3rd of the way done.
Our home has a one-bedroom apartment-type addition, which eventually will be used as a guest suite. We chose to renovated the guest suite, family room, and attic bedroom first and live in it while we figure out what to do with the rest of the house. With seven of us in our family, it’s cozy!
